Year of the Coast!

The entire length of the English coast became accessible for the first time through the new England Coast Path National Trail. As we came together to celebrate, the Year of the English Coast was a call to raise awareness and explore solutions to help support the complex challenges our coastal areas face.

In2 Darlington teamed up with artist Lottie Smith to deliver weekly workshops over ten weeks which took place in Darlington Hippodrome, exploring making and inventing under the theme of 'the coast'. Through using cardboard and simple materials that could be found in the recycling bin, Lottie and the students prototyped their way through invention ideas!
